Application fields of chlorinated paraffin

Application fields of different types of chlorinated paraffins:

It is suitable for flame retardancy of various products. It is used as plasticizer in plastics, rubber, fiber and other industrial fields, surface treatment agent for fabrics and packaging materials, modifier for bonding materials and coatings, anti-wear agent for high-pressure lubrication and metal cutting, mildew inhibitor, waterproof agent, ink additive, etc. It is widely used in the production of cable materials, floor materials, hoses, artificial leather, rubber and other products.

Chlorinated paraffin-42 can be used as anticoagulant and compression additive of lubricating oil, plasticizer aid of PVC products, PVC cable material, floor, film, plastic shoes, artificial leather and rubber products, as well as anticoagulant of lubricating oil coolant, anti extrusion additive and paint additive.

Chlorinated paraffin-52 is mainly used in PVC products as plasticizer or plasticizer aid. Its compatibility and heat resistance are better than chlorinated paraffin-42. In addition, it can also be used as an additive in rubber, paint and cutting oil to prevent fire, flame and improve cutting accuracy. It can also be used as an anticoagulant and anti extrusion agent for lubricating oil.

Chlorinated paraffin-70 has a high flame retardancy, and is mainly used as a flame retardant for rubber products, calcium plastic foamed decorative boards, polyolefins and other flame retardants, a surface treatment agent for PVC products, fabrics and packaging materials, an improver for adhesives, a filler for fire retardant coatings, and a polymer carrier. It is also used as flame retardant for ships, vehicles and building plastics.

Chlorinated paraffin 70 has high chlorine content, low softening temperature and can decompose and release gas under high temperature, so it has the functions of flame retardancy, plasticization and foaming, and also provides carbon source as a carbon forming agent. Chlorinated paraffins are often used in places where the flexibility of the coating is highly required, such as fire retardant coatings for cables. However, the application of chlorinated paraffins in waterborne fire retardant coatings for steel structures is limited. Because the commonly used chlorinated paraffins are oil soluble liquids, if they are used in aqueous systems, their compatibility with aqueous systems should be considered. The common solution is to disperse it by emulsifier, but the emulsifier is easy to cause coating blistering, which will adversely affect the appearance of the film.
